Abstract
Today, waste is a critical problem in various regions in Indonesia. The improper handling of waste at the households has burdened the government in terms of its management costs. In fact, most of the waste generated by households can still be recycled to produce useful objects. This can only be done if the community is willing to sort household waste by type; organic and inorganic. Waste that is not segregated will only be a problem for the environment because it become pollutant. This paper presents the process and results of the community service program in partnership with the PKK community of Lenteng Agung Village with the aim of increasing participants awareness of the importance of sorting household waste in the context of good waste management. In addition, the team had assisted the community in the waste sorting process for one week and introduced the concept of a waste bank. This training has increased 37.5% of the participants who started sorting waste. With the increased awareness of sorting waste at home, it is hoped that most household waste can still be recycled, so that in the future it can reduce overall waste.
